EAU CLAIRE — A proposed paid parking system in downtown Eau Claire won't be moving forward this fall.

The city opted to pull the plan, which would have needed to be finalized by Oct. 10 to be included in the 2024 city budget. The idea was for people to pay for parking spots on an app on their phone. It would have replaced the two-hour time limit system currently in place.
